General medical services are provided to patients free of charge via the NHS. Some services we provide to you that are not part of our NHS service to you incur a charge. These services include: -
- Some foreign travel vaccinations
- HGV / PSV medicals
- Medicals for fitness to participate in particular sports
- Countersigning of passport forms
- Completion of insurance forms e.g. holiday cancellation
- Private sickness certificates
- Driving Licences
Charges are reviewed on a yearly basis. A list of charges for these services is kept at reception.

Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio, Hepatitis A and Typhoid are all free of charge. Japanese B Encephalitis and tick born Encephalitis need a private prescription and you need to buy the vaccinations from the chemist. Then you need to return to surgery to have the injections.
Some Malaria tablets may be bought at the chemist without a prescription while others are only available from the doctor. You then have to take the prescription to the chemist and buy the tablets.
