Dr Wright (BSc MBBS (London) 1981 DRCOG MRCGP) is Senior Partner & joined The Hackwood Partnership in 1987 having trained at University College Hospital London. He values continuity of care in family medicine and is the practice lead for Cardiovascular Disease. He is married with three daughters. |
Dr Amanda Britton (f) Dr Britton (MB ChB (Birmingham)1981 DRCOG DCH MRCGP MFFP) qualified from Birmingham Medical School and became a partner in The Hackwood Partnership in 1992. She has special interest in Paediatrics, Gynaecology and Contraception leading the local area service in contraception and is significantly involved in teaching. She is a Trustee of both the Hospital Medical Fund and the Ark Education Centre. Her interests centre round her family and keeping up with her four children. Others include skiing, tennis, opera and ballet (participation only in the first two!). |
Dr Susan Bowen (f) Dr Bowen (BHB MB ChB (Auckland) 1983 DRCOG MRCGP) is a partner & did her medical training at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. She graduated in 1982 and came to England in 1984, arriving in Basingstoke for a ten day locum in May 1985. She has been here ever since and joined The Hackwood Partnership in 1993. She is a GP trainer, and involved in appraisal of qualified GP’s. Her medical interests include Women’s Health. She is a keen cook, reader, follower of folk music and provides an all hour’s taxi service to her two sons. |
Dr Andrew Cameron (m) Dr Cameron (BSc MBBCh (Dublin)1990 MRCGP)trained in medicine in Dublin following a Science degree in Dundee. He came to The Hackwood Partnership in 1994 as a Trainee and became a Partner the following year. He is now a Trainer of new GPs and medical students himself. Married with two children his interests outside medicine include aviation (he has a current Pilot’s licence) and classic cars. |
Dr Lynne Heathorn (f) Dr Heathorn (MB ChB (Bristol) 1997 MRCGP DRCOG DFFP) is a partner & studied medicine at the University of Bristol and qualified in 1997. She worked in Devon before moving to Hampshire and joined The Hackwood Practice in 2002. Her special medical interests are family planning and diabetes. She doesn’t have any spare time, thanks to her 2 children, but if she did she would enjoy gardening. |
Dr Brian Tighe (m) Dr Tighe (Bsc. MBBS DCH DRCOG MRCGP)qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, University of London in 1996 before taking up a number of hospital training posts in the South East of England. He spent a year working as a casualty doctor and rural GP in Queensland Australia before returning home to settle in Basingstoke. He joined The Hackwood Practice in 2005 as a Partner having worked here as a Registrar. He has 2 young children and coaches a local boys football team with varying degrees of success! |
Dr Clair Botting (f) Dr Botting (MB Bs (London) 2000 BSc (Hons) MRCP MRCGP) started at Hackwood in July 2008 & became a partner in April 2009. She qualified from Guys Hospital in London in 2000. Since then Dr Botting has travelled extensively and has significant medical experience having gained her MRCP. |
Dr Caroline Sykes (f) Is an Assistant & after attending Oxford University and St Thomas's Hospital Medical School, Dr Sykes qualified in 1983 and then trained as a GP. She worked in South London until 1995 when the family moved near Basingstoke. She has worked part time in the Hackwood Partnership since then, and is involved in fund-raising for the Hospital Medical Fund. The rest of her time she is busy organizing her three children and the family's three horses, dog, cat and two tortoises! |
Dr Rachel Turner (f) Is an Assistant & trained at St. Bart’s Hospital in London and qualified in 1993. She has worked in Surrey, Brighton, Bournemouth and Swindon and finally settled in Basingstoke in 2002. She has worked part-time in The Hackwood Partnership since then and takes a particular interest in mental health and women’s health issues. Keeping up with the hobbies of her 3 children has caused her to put her own singing career on hold. |
Dr Roopa Radhakrishnan (f) Came to the practice as a Registrar in August 2005, and having successfully completed her training has stayed with us as an Assistant. |
