Test Results

Please note that for reasons of confidentiality we no longer give out test results at the desk. Please call for your results on 0844 477 3400 (option 5) between 2.30 and 6.00 p.m. weekdays.

Swine Flu Immunisations

Swine flu immunisations have now started at this surgery. If you fall into any of the following risk groups please make an appointment for your vaccination:

Risk groups – patients with:

  • Heart disease
  • Asthma/COPD
  • Diabetes
  • Kidney, liver or neurological problems
  • Conditions that impair the immune system
  • Carers

The vaccine is also recommended for pregnant women and people who care for patients with immune problems. Please book your immunisation at the front desk.

Specialist Nurses

Mrs Liz de Jong
Liz trained in Scotland and qualified as a registered general and orthopaedic nurse in 1972. She worked in Falkirk and Dunfermline in several hospital posts before moving to England with her family. She has been nursing in general practice for the last 18 years, and has developed special interests in respiratory disease, women’s health and minor illnesses. Away from work she indulges her favourite pastimes of walking the dog, reading and caravanning.
Mrs Annette Taylor
Annette qualified as a nurse in 1983 and has worked principally in Accident and Emergency since then. After working as a Nurse Advisor for NHS Direct for three years, Annette joined the practice in 2003. Her main professional interests are triage, minor illness treatment, management of coronary heart disease and hypertension. Her out of work interests include the creation of ever more complicated fancy dress outfits for her young children and uncovering and unravelling the complexities of being a competent allotment holder with 2 equally inexperienced friends.

Nurses

Mrs Hazel McClelland
Hazel completed her nurse training at Peterborough District Hospital in 1987. Subsequently she moved to Farnborough and worked at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey. Whilst there she worked in several disciplines but specialised in male surgery (Urology). Hazel joined the Practice in 2000. As well as working in the treatment room she helps run the ‘Heartguard Clinic’ as she has a special interest in Coronary Heart Disease and Hypertension. Outside of work Hazel enjoys country walks and cycling (usually to the nearest Public House). As well as two children Hazel has had a recent addition to the family in the form of a puppy called Billy.
Mrs Clare Smith
Clare completed her RGN training at The Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading between 1984 and 1987. Her first job was in the Accident and Emergency department at North Hampshire Hospital where she stayed for 15 years. During her time there she completed a post graduate diploma in Accident and Emergency medicine and tshe works in then moved to Hackwood where she works in the treatment room. She also does baby immunisations, cryotherapy clinic, asthma and COPD clinics. Recently she completed diplomas in Asthma and COPD. Her hobbies include badminton, reading and taxi service for 2 teenage children.
Mrs Deborah Labagnara
Deborah trained as a general nurse at North Hampshire Hospital, and then went on to train as a Midwife at Basingstoke working in the hospital and community. She joined the practice as a Midwife in 1998 then moved to practice nursing in 2002, with special interest in diabetes. Outside of work Deborah hobbies include being a chicken fancier (not the cooked kind!!!), creative embroidery and gardening.
Mrs Margaret Towsey
Chronic Disease Management Nurse

Margaret trained at the Nightingale Hospital, St Thomas Hospital London in 1997. After senior experience she moved to work as a Practice Nurse I Farnborough in 1983, in 1998 she worked in a GP practice in Fleet. Since then she has gained qualifications in diabetes, coronary heart disease, cervical screening and developed a special interest in travel health. Margaret joined The Hackwood Partnership in May 2004 together with the other practice nurses she holds clinics for patients with diabetes and heart disease with the aim of improving patient health.
Mrs Cathy Rees
Woman’s Health Nurse

Cathy qualified as a nurse from The Westminster Hospital, London in 1975. Since then she has had extensive experience in nursing, health visiting and nurse teaching, both in the UK and USA. Cathy joined the practice in 1997 as a specialist nurse in Women’s health. She has gained numerous qualifications in this field, including family planning, sexually transmitted disease, menopause and cervical cytology. Cathy holds clinics for women covering all aspects of women’s health.
